Botox and Fillers have been a substantial part of our practice the last 5 years particularly in Boston, Massachusetts and Miami, Florida where we typically perform over 60 patients per month and have performed over 5,000 patients.

Botox and Fillers is one of the most if not the most common non-surgical procedures. These procedures have a great potential and one of the reasons they are so used and accepted is for their ability to reverse the science of aging on the face.

In the upper third of the face, the forehead, the brows, and the eyes, the botox works by lifting the eyebrows and consistently avoiding the lines of the forehead. The amount we usually place is 35 to 40 units of Botox and they can last for three months. The result is very natural if the Botox Fillers are done correctly.

Fillers are mainly for the midface where they can augment the areas of the cheek bones on the lateral side. Also, Fillers can improve the appearance under the eyes where the dark circles and loss of volume next to the nose exist. Indirectly it also fills the laugh lines as well.

In regards to lips, the volume of the filler will help obtain a natural look on the lips as well. Other areas where fillers can enhance are on the eyebrows, where you can actually elevate the brow. Also in the temporal areas or the upper third of the face where there is some wasting. Fillers can also help reduce fine lines or scarring superficially.

Currently there is a new medication similar to Botox in the way  it is used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the underlying muscles. The new medication form South Korea is known as Jeuveau.

Jeuveau is offering discounts for each procedure if you do more then 20 units so immediately you are getting additional discounts which can offer savings.

Jeuveau has shown very powerful results especially where muscular denervation is used for example in myofacial pain syndrome where the muscles are typically very dominant. This new medication is already FDA approved and Dr. Varkarakis has already performed over 25 patients for facial rejuvenation and TMJ. All of the patients have had excellent results and the clinical literature looks very promising.

Regarding Fillers, Voluma and Vollure are still considered the best due to the quality of the fillers, the softness, and the long lasting results they provide.
